When it comes to RPG games I am an extreme critic. Honestly, I find it very strange that I rate RPGs on such a high scale even though I love them so much. I guess it’s because I have such high expectations for RPG games. Ever since the release of The Elders Scrolls V Skyrim game I have seen the true potential of RPG games. Huge open worlds, customizing your character, and crazy fights should always be a “must have” in RPGs, but no game has come close to reaching my expectations except for Skyrim. Finally, a new game has caught my attention, and I am pleased to say that it may take over the #1 spot for best RPG, in my opinion. The new Witcher game, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has shown some promising gameplay. But, does this game fit the three criteria that I listed above? Well let’s find out!
1) Does the Witcher 3: Wild Hunt have a huge open world?
Absolutely! The Witcher 3 has a massive world that can be explored. Witcher 3 has a map that is 20% larger than Skyrim’s map. It took me hours to explore most of Skyrim, and I still have yet to finish. So, if you thought Skyrim was big think again because Witcher is about to take big to a whole new level.
2) Can you customize your character?
Definitely! Witcher 3 offers a wide variety of customizations for your character. The only difference is that you don’t get to make your own character like in Skyrim. In The Witcher 3 game you play as a man named Geralt. But, you still can upgrade spells, and use different weapons to take down a variety of enemies.
3) Does the Witcher 3 have “crazy” fights?
Heck yeah it does! If you’ve seen some gameplay for the Withcer 3 then you know exactly what I am talking about. You can slice and dice your enemies, or you can out smart them with spells that can burn, push, freeze, and obliterate anything!
Overall, the Withcer 3: Wild Hunt is one of the games that I will be keeping my eyes on until the minute of release. It has passed every test required to be a good RPG game, and it has almost everything an RPG gamer could want in a game. In the end Skyrim will always hold a place in my heart as one of the best RPGs of all time, but that doesn’t mean my heart can’t make room for some other killer games like Witcher 3: Wild Hunt! This game will be released on February 24th, 2015, and is going to be $59.99 MSRP for the Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
